Tampa Bay continues to have lower crime rates than most of the comparison communities and is tied for first place for the lowest rates in Total Crime. Major crimes include burglary, larceny, car theft, assault, robbery, rape and murder. Tampa Bay ranks 6th in Violent Crime at 94. This communicates less risk than the national average for risk associated with a personal crime, such as assault, robbery, rape and murder.
